While the Romans referred to the continent of Africa with the name Africa, the continent went by another name in classical Greece. What is this word/name, which was the Latin designation for the region of the Maghreb? The name referred to modern day Africa west of the Nile River. By contrast, the areas of Sub-Saharan Africa were known as Aethiopia.
